Springtime pests
With warmer weather and clear skies it is time to plan for your spring pest control routine. Mice and rats are moving back outside to start breeding and collecting food, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t prevent or treat infestations now.
A professional inspection will let you know where the likely points of entry (where they are getting into your house) are, and what you can do to prevent this from happening. I am happy to seal any areas I find if you don’t want to do it yourself.
With the warmer weather the bees are flying - if you find a nest, hive or swarm that you want relocated give us a call. We try very hard to safely relocate our wild pollinators so that they can do their important environmental work.
Are you seeing wasps already? It is early but not unheard of. If you see a wasp nest starting this time of year we can treat it and prevent stings this summer. In the spring the queen wasps are out looking for places to nest. If you catch the nest early and have it treated there are significantly less wasps hanging around in August, when you are trying to enjoy the great outdoors with your family.
We see a significant increase in ant activity in the spring. Now is the time to deal with ants, especially carpenter ants before their nest gets booming and they get to work destroying your house. If you are seeing ants with wings this is especially important as that indicates a mature nest and new queens coming.
Stay safe out there - take care
